Do you feel like trying your hand at the art of bread making with a simple yet delicious recipe? Today we will prepare homemade oil buns, a product very easy to prepare but that will surprise everyone with its special touch: Basso Extra Virgin Olive Oil with Basil!
With this preparation you will obtain very soft oil buns with the intense scent of basil, the king of Mediterranean cuisine!
– 150 gr of 0 flour
– 100 gr of 00 flour
– 150 ml of water
– 5 gr of brewer’s yeast
– 50 ml of basil-flavored oil
– 5 gr of salt
– 5 gr of sugar
Heat the water without letting it boil and dissolve the yeast together with the sugar. When a slight foam has formed (indicating that the yeast is active) we can proceed with the preparation; sift the flours into a bowl and add the salt. Add 35 grams of Basil Oil and mix everything together. Transfer the mixture to a floured pastry board, form a ball and let it rise, covering it with a clean cloth. When the dough has doubled in volume, cut out small smooth balls; place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and leave to rise for a further hour. Brush the surface with a little bit of oil and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 10-15 minutes to obtain soft rolls.
To give the basil oil sandwiches a fancy touch, we can sprinkle the surface of the sandwiches with sesame, poppy seeds, ground pepper or dried basil!
